The Art of Hearing

*TEXT: Isa 50:4-5*
_The Lord God has given me his words of wisdom so that I may know what I should say to all these weary ones. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will._

One reason why we must continuously keep listening to what He wants to say is because God’s instruction is specific per time depending on your state and what he is doing. The success of your walk with God will be directly proportional to your attitude and your response to divine instructions in your life. Note that the attitude comes before the actual response.”If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land” Isaiah 1:19NIV.The willing attitude is a prerequisite to an effective obedience. This attitude of willing, expectancy creates the right environment to hear God more. The prophet in the above text was not tired of hearing. He keeps hearing and obeying. Now, if you have this attitude to divine instructions, you can map how your instructions are changing per season. That is why you can hear someone’s instruction and discern where he is because you can map out that instruction. The spiritual walk has landmarks. So, as your season changes, your instruction changes. A serious believer should have a special book for critical instructions which you can look at a glance and track God’s mind for you over time. You will see all the instructions forming a structure. You can also evaluate your obedience level, accuracy in your hearing etc. This will make you improve. Keep a track record of your instructions. What is your attitude to divine instructions? Does God’s instruction catch you unaware? Are you so reluctant when God speaks? Is his word a burden to you? Does a simple demand make you snap? maybe that is the reason your walk with God has been monotonous and unchanging though your season is counting.Wake up and show a ready attitude to God. Lord I am ready to hear what you have to say. As you change this attitude, there will be an opening of gate of express communication in the spirit.

Father I thank you because your love for me is great (Psalm 28:6). Work out the willingness in me to obey your instruction with passion.(Phil 2:13).
