God sets the lonely in families, He leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land

LESSONS
“One family” is a slogan used by many associations when they want to illustrate oneness and care. Indeed, it is more than a slogan but it is the most important thing a man his needs on earth after relationship with God .The Israelites were divided in their tribes or families. That is how their portions were allocated. Whoever loses the family identity has lost his inheritance. Likewise the church, it is a big family. The church is a recovery plan for the family agenda of God. This is the place of the Church. It is one big family for all the saints with God as the father. Church is a family not just a place of “yes and amen”, it is a family. Different models have been used to administer the church but it is only administering it as a family that can please God. That was why Paul made effective family Governance as prerequisite for becoming a Bishop. It is because they are to do the same with the church.

This has a lot of implications which will call for a lot of corrections from the pulpit to the pew in the current day church. Firstly, the leaders must be fathers representing the ultimate father who is God himself. This is in responsibilities and likewise in authorities. Responsibility comes before authority. Let us examine the responsibilities.

Firstly, he must be well equipped to meet the needs just like a man must meet his house needs. The leaders in the body of Christ must meet the need of challenges facing the church. If the church is sick, we must be locally and globally awake to the cry of the saints. We must not hear the killings of saints and we as leaders will not be concerned. We must arise! We are fathers and not just employees. To do this effectively requires adequate preparation. This is in having deeper relationship with the ultimate father and letting him equip us for the care for his church.

PRAYER ALERT
Father, strengthen the church leaders and raise more leaders for your church in Jesus name.
