TOPIC: BE ASSURED!
TEXT: John 6:10
Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them.
LESSON
In our previous discussions, we have learnt how the new wine came as they followed and obeyed His word. However, as rational beings, this state is not possible without first dealing with the fear of the unknown which is characterized by the phrase ‘’…what if..?”.
Like: “what if the water does not become wine? we would have wasted time fetching water to the full.”
“why not test it when it is half filled so that we can see if it is becoming wine?”
“Let us taste before it is time…,” is a sign of lack of trust. Some gave this reason for premarital sex. Some even got pregnant before marriage because they were skeptical if their woman wil take in after wedding.
From the above text, Jesus asked them to sit in fifties. “What if the bread finishes before getting to your turn?”
The list is endless. Without trust, you can’t follow the Lord. You must build trust in his person and have faith in his word before you can follow him.
Faith doesn’t obviate the need to trust.
Remove every bit of anxiety and lay hold of his instructions per time. Seek him now not when the wine has finished. Such emergency seeking has a lot of complications. Seek him early, seek him always and you shall enjoy fresh fire always.
PRAYER ALERT
Father! Teach me to trust your person and act on faith in your word so that the fresh fire would be kindled in my heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen !
