TOPIC: GOD’S WISDOM
TEXT: 1 Corinth 1:21-24
While Jews clamor for miraculous demonstrations and Greeks go in for philosophical wisdom, we go right on proclaiming Christ, the Crucified. Jews treat this like an anti-miracle — and Greeks pass it off as absurd. But to us who are personally called by God himself — both Jews and Greeks — Christ is God’s ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one
LESSONS
The Kingdom’s principle is foolishness to human wisdom. Even the ones that claim to understand it lie as they cannot access the intent of God by human wisdom. In its real sense, it will be foolishness to them. A carnal man cannot receive the things of God, it is not that “he will not” but “he cannot”. A carnal mind cannot receive and operate the divine wisdom(1 Corinth 2:14).
The world may read the book of proverbs and other books of the bible to learn some principles which will surely work but they lack the knowledge of the person of God.
If Christ had come to physically deliver the Jews then and become their physical king, it could have made sense to them. How then could the deliverer have died such a foolish death? This was confusing to human sense. But through death He conquered death. This is the wisdom of God for complete deliverance of the entire human race forever. While Jesus died on the cross, devil thought he had won, he never comprehended the wisdom of God. God won the devil by His wisdom not by His power. Wisdom manifests in ways of doing things. Technically the devil cannot comprehend divine wisdom. How will you fight Goliath with David? How will you silence the avengers with a suckling who cannot even talk?
Why will you use a busy person to accomplish a task that even a free person cannot do? Why can’t you use the idle ones? Why calling Elisha that has a big business company? Why not call those who are idle and let Elisha be a kingdom financier? How does giving leads to having? How do we live by our death to carnality? He says He who loves his life will lose but He who lose it for his sake will have it? How?
(John 12:25 talks about the human life which is psuche but not zoe).How will you be the greatest by being the lowliest and servant of all and your life becomes” Mr for all”, easily accessible?
Which kind of wisdom is that?
All the “how “are embedded in the wisdom of God. That is why devil is afraid of what an average believer, operating in the wisdom of God will do next. He does not understand. When you follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit, devil is still wondering which kind of riddles you want to bring out next. He cannot understand that way. It is a mystery unto Him forever.
Likewise we must not try to understand the ways of God by our wisdom or human sense. We will find it difficult to follow the Lord that way. But one thing is certain, if you truly follow the Lord, His promises are certain no matter how senseless the way looks. Let Him lead the way, you just focus on the daily promises. Keep obeying, keep spreading the gospel, it is the power of God and the wisdom of God and you will see God doing wonders through those foolishness. How wonderful are your ways o Lord!
The rich of this world will know they are poor when God finds full expression in his wisdom through his children, likewise the wise ones will know they have pursued vanity and the earthly strong ones will know they have pursued futility. Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God, He is life indeed! Much more after this earth, we will show more distinctly who we are in glory. Praise God.
