TOPIC: THE BURDEN OF PARENTHOOD
TEXT: Jer 1:5-6(TLB)
I knew you before you were formed within your mother’s womb; before you were born, I sanctified you and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.” “O Lord God,” I said, “I can’t do that! I’m far too young! I’m only a youth!”
LESSONS
Notice the responses of Jeremiah to a revelation of his destiny: “I can’t do that! I’m far too young! I’m only a youth!”. The exclamation marks were
not for joke; it was really amazing to him. Such a remarkable destiny communicated to a youth! Why couldn’t God have waited till he was older and all the vigor of the youth already dissipated before he started telling him these serious things? Why was Joseph dreaming at age 17? Also, do you think David was just getting the revelation that he will be king in Israel at the battle field? Why are so called children born in a godly home, raised by
Christian parents entering late 20’s without a clear definition of purpose? Some that even receive divine communication in their 30’s are still too excited. Even if God tells you that he will make the whole world to obey him through you, is it something to make you proud or come to term of responsibility?
The reason why manifestations of men are getting weak is because many get to know too late. Do you know some people are consecrated for their destiny from the womb? Samson etc. They need such a foundation to6 carry through. May we win divine approval of God to be trusted with young generation that carry critical destinies. If you want to have great children, be a responsible parent. God will not commit great destiny to irresponsible parents. Look at how Jochebed contended for the preservation of the destiny of Moses? A great woman indeed!
Beloved, I strongly believe God will also release children with delicate destiny into the world as we move closer to the end of this age and hell will fight those destinies seriously. Can God trust you to raise one of such for him and they will be preserved? Don’t sit down and just be wishing you will be a Father of John or Jesus in your generation, please become a responsible parent.
How can we do this? As a teen, he must come to personally know the person of the Holy Ghost. When this happens, the Holy Spirit will be giving him revelations. A teenager will be excited about new things. Holy Ghost knows this; it was made so by God. So, he will use that tendency to be showing them new things. Don’t quench their zeal for revelation even if it is not balanced; just guide and intercede for him. This will lead the child into more clarity. As this continues, the child will be receiving deeper things of God, the agenda of God for his day as he becomes acquainted by revelation to things of the kingdom. Then, He will come to the realm of understanding that God can communicate the things of God in his life to Him. He will start knowing who he is. This is what will bring required discipline not by forceful law. Raise your teens like this and you will have visionary youth willing to be disciplined to see that dream come to pass.
Are you lagging behind in the counsel of God for you? Are you still in the valley of indecision in matters of purpose and calling at late 20’s, early 30’s? are you carrying unnecessary burden instead of focus on him and his assignment? You can make a switch today. Your parent might have failed you but God is forever faithful. Come out of struggle and walk in the grace of your calling. You will see a greater turnaround than focusing on problems and struggling for survival. Make a switch, walk in the rest of the living God! Please, make a switch. Sing this son “When we walk with the Lord, in the light of his word, what are glory he sheds on our way, when we do his good will, he abides with us still and with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey for there are no other way, to be happy in Jesus, then to trust and obey”.
I see God calling some to rest in his will. God will do all he has promised to do. Trust him and keep following. He is ever faithful. Receive grace to continue from where your strength stops. You are walking in God’s strength from now on in Jesus name. Praise God.
PRAYER ALERT
May, i be spiritually sensitive to know the greatness of the destiny of the children committed to me by birth or discipleship. Help me Lord to input virtues that shall make them succeed kingdom wise. Amen
