_Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves_
*LESSONS*
In the midst of these shakings, what is being done for self will be broken down even in the body of Christ to prepare a bride without blemish for Christ. If you will be among the vessels for the season,check the updated requirements and then follow what is to be done away with.This is what is being mentioned above! The veil will be broken and there shall be greater access and revelation of Christ. Give up the veil and let men only see Christ through you!
Apostle Paul started this verse by saying “let nothing be done through selfish ambitions”. As humans we are often motivated by selfish ambitions and most of what we do are not done out of love for others, but out of our own desire for “advancement or promotion”.
However, not all ambition is selfish ambition, for there is a good ambition to glorify God and serve him with everything we have through humility.
Again, Paul mentioned conceit which is thinking too high of one self or having an excessive self interest and self-preoccupation; which could be literally translated “empty glory”.
Lastly Paul mentioned “lowliness of mind”. This is completely contradictory to the attitude of the world. Rather boastfulness, show-man-show and competition are an attraction to the world. The ancient Greeks considered lowliness of mind to be a fault (weakness to pride); not a virtue (embodiment of divine power). But to Christ, humility counts much (matt.5:5) and Christians are to follow his example for without humility your discipleship lifestyle won’t point to Christ.
*PRAYER ALERT*
Lord Jesus thank you for
calling my attention towards humility. I yield myself as you prepare me as a vessel for the last days glory in the name of Jesus!
