BUILDER’S DEVOTIONAL DATE:TUESDAY,OCTOBER 15,2019 TOPIC: HE IS WORKING ALL THINGS FOR YOUR GOOD TEXT: Gen 17:1-4 “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations” NIV LESSONS This is report of Abraham’s evaluation after a period of his walk with God. He made mistake of giving birth to Ishmael. He doubted God. This is the greatest sin, sin of unbelief. This is what hinders the Israelite from entering the Canaan land. It gave birth to other sins. Yet, God did not cast Abraham away. His covenant with him still remains firm and secure. This may be the outcome of your evaluation sometimes. You don’t need to give up .It might seems as if all the prophetic instruction never come through after you have done all you could. Can God lie? Why this prophecy didn’t come through? This is one the greatest dilemma of a young believer. Can God lie? Why can’t he avert everything that has thwarted this promise? Later you will find out that in his own foreknowledge, all things has been made to walk together for good. This is the lesson that you will learn that will make you more relax in your dealings with God. You play your part but never forget that he is the master porter. As long as you are in his hand you can never be marred. There is great peace and joy in this. Worries will disappear from your heart. It takes several years of struggle before He comes to learn this. This is the point of absolute rest.Then you can say my soul has found a resting place. However, you must get every little detail that will be revealed to you by God. Often, you may not have heard God correctly, you may not have implement the instruction rightly or timely, you might have choose Hagar as partner instead of Sarah because of impatience ,you might have slack in executing some instructions or revealed ideas etc. This will be revealed as you wait upon him in prayer. Renew your strength and ride on the wing of grace. Elijah prayed 7 times before rain fell. He knew rain must fall. It was a principle of faith demonstrated .Faith is persistent because of his persuation.Never give up! If you evaluate and you see you have done well, give him glory and move to another season of your life. You are blessed in Jesus name. PRAYER ALERT My horn is exalted like the horn of unicorn, I am anointed with fresh oil ( Psalm 92:10).Ask for renewal of strength, vigor and faith in your walk with God.
